Last days of Bangkok

On our way back through Bangkok we had a day to tour around before flying out that night at 8pm. It was a clear, sunny day which is not often the case in the city, so we thought it would be fitting to go back to the Grand Palace and see all the glittering, gold temples in the sunshine. We had to make sure we were properly covered, below our knees and our shoulders covered, so we grabbed extra fisherman pants. I thought I'd be fine with a scarf around my shoulders. We get down there and the clothing etiquette police are at every station upon entering the grounds. We make it up to the final ticket check through when the lady doesn't like my scarf (I'm wearing a tanktop underneath). I head off to buy a yellow 'kings' T-shirt that all of Thailand has adopted this year in honour of the King's 60th year on the throne - "LONG LIVE THE KING" is seen everywhere. Luckily, the few shops outside the gates are selling the shirts at a reasonable price, so we pick one up and I throw it on, hence the long yellow t-shirt you see me wearing in all of the shots.
The Grand Palace always seems to be full of people when we go, but it is worth it just to be in the presence of the amazing temples, gardens, and sacred Buddhas.
